If the sheer idea of an audit makes you tense up, you’re not the only one. But believe it or not, sometimes an audit is precisely what you need—for your website, that is.

Running your website through an SEO audit is more important than you might think, especially if you want to start ranking better on the big search engine results pages (SERPs).

SEOmator: The Good and the Bad

SEOmator’s auditing algorithm scours your site to pinpoint SEO and technical elements you can improve so that your web pages can climb up the SERP rankings. Its powerful auditing tool gives you the insights you need to keep your site running smoothly—from pagespeed to backlinks. It also features in-depth rank-tracking data for you to stay one step ahead of your competition.

Although its tools are incredibly easy to use, SEOmator might feel overly simplistic in some areas, mainly with customizability and data output. We did run into some issues when using its main SEO audit tool as well, so look out for that if you’re going to give it a try yourself.

What SEOmator Is Good At

Comprehensive dashboard: You’ll quickly find the unified dashboard to be an impressive instrument for streamlining your SEO efforts. With 23 essential SEO tools consolidated into one platform, SEOmator eliminates the need for toggling between different apps and sites.

The dashboard centralizes tracking results by gathering all the rank checking, site audits, backlink monitoring, and other insights into one place. This makes identifying issues quick and clear.

You’ll especially appreciate the step-by-step SEO checklist that outlines optimization tasks. This action-based approach simplifies the technical problems so you can understand how to deal with whatever is identified in site crawls. The specific “how-to-fix” guidance also accelerates fixing problems like broken links and duplicate content.

Navigating between the various reports is remarkably smooth, including when you’re doing competitor analysis. The dashboard’s layout makes it easy to assess your site’s strengths on metrics like backlinks, traffic, and domain authority versus those of your competitors.

With the ability to control account access right from your dashboard, you can restrict permissions so that certain team members can only access the data they need. Delegating tasks via the dashboard is also easy with its “to-do” entries.

Rather than constant app switching, everything you need for streamlined collaboration and workflow management is on the SEOmator dashboard. Its unified view saves you time while the intuitive navigation speeds up SEO planning and execution.

Six features for SEOmator's toolset highlighted.

Audit tools and on-page SEO: With SEOmator’s flagship tool, you can leverage its SEO audits and on-page testing capabilities to optimize your website’s technical SEO and content. The comprehensive auditing feature identifies issues while the on-page analysis points out areas for improvement.

The free SEO audit can be especially useful for its high-level overview of potential problems. It checks important factors like page loading speeds, HTML tags, and text statistics to gauge overall SEO health.

When you need to drill down into specific pages, the embedded SEO widget is especially valuable. By honing in on key landing pages, it lets you diagnose and resolve page-specific SEO deficiencies so that your visitors will encounter optimized content right from the first click.

Specifically for on-page optimization, SEOmator audits HTML tags, copy, titles, and meta descriptions. Checking for these ensures that your pages adhere to essential text structure and formatting best practices.

Finally, by integrating with Google Search Console and Google Analytics, SEOmator transforms Google’s crawl data into clear SEO insights and actionable steps to remediate any trouble spots.

With all of SEOmator’s audits and tests for both site-wide and page-specific SEO improvements, you’ll be equipped with everything you need to optimize your content and website architecture for better search visibility.

Great for SEO consulting: Since you can use SEOmator’s auditing capabilities on more websites than just your own, it makes a great tool for independent freelancers and marketing agencies to win potential clients. The detailed reports can verify your SEO expertise while also putting the spotlight on issues you can fix.

SEOmator has a white label audit widget that you can embed directly onto your own website, making real-time website evaluations simple. Adding your branding to reports before sending them to prospects can lay out your expertise and build trust in your services.

From your own website, customers will be able to download PDFs of the audits, or you can opt to have the widget send them emails. The reports can also be customized with the fields that are relevant to you and your business needs.

Altogether, SEOmator’s audits will enable you to convert more cold prospects into customers by running instant analyses and sending them branded reports—if you can make the website issues obvious while also showcasing your ability to resolve them, you’ll have a good chance to grow your business.

Rank tracking: From organic rankings to rich result placements, SEOmator’s rank tracking tool delivers comprehensive SERP insights.

Right from the dashboard, you can monitor real-time traffic metrics and current keyword rankings. The tracking automatically consolidates data derived from Google, Bing, and other major search engines to give you a thorough perspective.

Once you’ve tested it out, you’ll appreciate having access to cached SERP results showing exactly where your pages rank or ranked. The additional context helps you interpret the possible reasons for ranking changes—and tracking the movements and rankings of your competitors is also a good way of benchmarking your own performance.

The platform tracks not only standard organic rankings but also rich result placements like featured snippets, knowledge panels, images, videos, maps, and more. To create an even fuller picture, SEOmator also tracks rankings for paid ads, shopping results, and local rankings.

YouTube video tracking is another useful capability for following individual video and channel performance. If you utilize YouTube for your business, knowing your rankings and metrics will help spawn better videos—as long as you learn from what you find.

When you know where you are ranking across any of these search channels and why, you can strategically strengthen your presence and boost your results with the right solutions.

In-depth data and analytics: SEOmator compiles key on-page and off-page metrics through extensive website crawls and external monitoring.

The SEO audits generate diagnostics across critical factors like page speed, HTML tags, broken links, and more. Separate reports detail strengths, issues, and optimization strategies based on the insightful crawl data.

To dig deeper into the data, you’ll be able to customize reports by exporting to CSV or using API connection capabilities. You can take it a step further by adding metrics into your reports—like domain authority and Google visits—to provide more context when looking at keyword rankings.

For analytics beyond organic search and rank tracking, SEOmator aggregates keyword and competition data from social media profiles where you can see where your posts are being shared and how often. When you bring in data across all of your channels, you and your team will be able to guide content and engagement strategies with more precision.

The task management system also helps draw your team’s attention to issues that need resolution. When the data comes back, centralized SEO reports automatically compile action items to address technical problems or SEO content improvements—which allows you to put the data to immediate use.

SEOmator delivers in-depth reporting to uncover both problems and opportunities. The combination of customizable reporting and exportable raw data breeds the most valuable SEO insights for informing and updating your strategy. In other words, it gives you metrics you can act on.

Backlink tracking and performance: The SEOmator platform compiles insightful backlink reports to identify issues and opportunities for your link-building strategy. Key focus areas include domain authority, link diversity, toxic versus healthy ratios, anchor text optimization, and more.

With the Linking Domain report, you’ll be able to see all of the domains that are currently linking back to your site. By analyzing these relationships, you can make sure that all of your backlinks are coming from high-quality sources.

As part of any good SEO strategy, backlink diversity is crucial for natural link profiles. SEOmator highlights potential risks if anchor text patterns or linking domains become too concentrated.

Similarly, monitoring link toxicity levels prevents problems like negative SEO attacks or risky link networks. It is imperative to keep unhealthy links to a minimum for proactive management.

On the flipside, you can also use SEOmator to explore competitors’ backlink profiles so that you can uncover creative partnership opportunities that you may be missing. At the end of the day, it’s all about building a strong foundation of backlinks, and SEOmator helps you balance the risks and rewards so you can build it the right way over time.

Free tools: It’s difficult not to enjoy SEOmator’s 19 free SEO tools for quick website checkups and ongoing developments. The accessible tools allow frequent mini-audits to stay on top of technical and content issues.

The free, full SEO audit is great for benchmarking your overall SEO performance and highlighting areas in need of attention. Even without a paid subscription, it provides tremendous value for diagnostics.

Other handy tools include page speed checkers, meta tag analyzers, link validators, and mobile-friendliness testers. In minutes, you can spot problems hampering performance or user experience.

For research purposes, the free keyword tool generates volume estimates and suggestions so you can make informed content planning decisions. You’ll find the ability to quickly vet terms without paying to be a nice benefit.

Lastly, SEOmator’s SEO AI assistant offers an intriguing glimpse into the future. The website has prompts that help you develop strategies around long-tail keywords, local SEO, link building, and more.

SEOmator’s Potential Drawbacks

Tools are not very robust: As excited as you may be to use SEOmator’s tools, you might find that they lack depth and reliability—especially the free ones.

In our testing, the most concerning issue we encountered was how the free audit tool often failed to generate reports after multiple attempts. This was a frustrating occurrence, and we expected more from SEOmator’s flagship product, be it free or paid. Without receiving the promised SEO overview, the tool provided no discernible value.

Beyond the defunct audit, other free tools proved fairly limited in functionality as well. For example, page speed checkers provided only basic load time metrics and lacked insight on potential improvements, and the test on mobile friendliness was also simplistic compared to the one provided by Google.

Similarly, the keyword research tool failed to match established options for more in-depth aspects like topic research.

While the SEO AI assistant offers an intriguing concept, its current capabilities are extremely narrow. The limited prompts do not yet enable leveraging AI to truly enhance strategy. In fact, SEOmator’s AI assistant is really just an AI chat tool API embedded onto its website.

SEOmator’s free toolkit feels more like a sample of paid capabilities than a functional asset. And although we can surmise why, the spotty reliability and shallow insights will leave you wanting more.

User complaints: In reviewing SEOmator, we came across several concerning complaints from past users regarding the platform’s pricing, capabilities, and support. These issues seem to stem from unmet expectations and a lack of transparency.

One of the most prevalent grievances involved pricing being higher than the perceived value delivered. Many users felt the monthly costs were steep compared to alternative SEO tools that seem to offer more powerful features.

Users also complained about the quantity and depth of included tools falling short of competitors. Specifically, the platform appears to lack certain expected basics around rank tracking and keyword research.

Poor customer support was another common frustration, with contact options being limited and response times allegedly dragging during business hours. Many reported seeing a message during the middle of the day about how the live chat was unavailable, stating that support would “be online tomorrow.” However, we saw this message over consecutive days.

Nevertheless, it’s worth noting satisfied reviewers highlighted the platform’s ease of use, making it accessible for beginners despite some limitations. But for power users, the complaints suggest that it fails to deliver on enterprise-level features.

Unpolished, unprofessional website: It’s a bit surprising how many things look off with SEOmator’s own website. For a brand that focuses on optimizing web pages, any oversights can undermine a user’s confidence in the company’s overall expertise.

Right away, we noticed typos, grammar issues, and incoherent messaging across several pages of the website. It looks like it was written with AI and never edited by a human. For an SEO tool promoting better website content, the writing is subpar and even unprofessional in certain areas.

While not technically incorrect, we found it odd that one of the paid plans is called the “Standart” plan, which uses the nonstandard spelling of “standard.” (Or perhaps the “nonstandart” spelling in this case.)

You’ll also find that the website has duplicate sections that say the exact same thing, one right after the other.

You’ll also find that the website has duplicate sections that say the exact same thing, one right after the other. (See what we did there?)

We also ran into broken links, which is a bad sign as well. For instance, attempting to access documentation from the contact page resulted in dead ends. That’s not a good look for links that are intended to take users to informational resources for troubleshooting issues.

What’s potentially even more problematic, however, is how the FAQ section has answers without questions—which is almost weirder than having questions without answers.

All of these issues seem to contradict SEOmator’s mission. The platform aims to help customers fix website problems surrounding content errors, technical bugs, and accessibility problems—yet the company’s own site is full of them.

Of course, having a janky website does not mean the software itself is also janky. But it does reflect poorly on SEOmator as a whole. For potential customers prioritizing SEO excellence, the website imperfections are hard to overlook.

SEOmator Plans and Pricing

SEOmator offers a 100% money back guarantee on its plans with no questions asked. What’s even better is that there are no contracts, so you just sign up and get started.

Each plan comes with a 7-day free trial for you to test out the tools. With three plans differentiated by the number of projects, users, and results per report, you’ll be able to find the right plan to fit your needs.

All SEOmator plans come with an identical feature set that starts with rank tracking across Google, YouTube, and Bing. It also includes key tools like the SEO audits, backlink analysis, and keyword research to help optimize your web pages.

Finally, each plan comes with SEO checklists and white-label PDF reports for further information.

Lite Plan

The Lite plan costs $49 per month and provides essential SEO capabilities for individuals and very small teams. Ideally, this plan would best suit businesses that are just starting out on their SEO journey, or those who run a simple blog or website. It comes with allowance for one user on a single project with a monthly limit of 1,000 rank tracking results per report.

Standart Plan

Upgrading to the $99 per month Standart plan (again, that’s “Standart” and not “Standard”) allows managing SEO for up to five websites with five user seats. The limits for results expands to 50,000 per report. This plan is most suitable for small SEO and/or marketing teams that are running multiple sites and need frequent audits.

Advanced Plan

Finally, the Advanced plan costs $279 per month and aims to serve larger agencies with up to 15 projects, 10 users, and 150,000 results monthly. This enterprise-level plan adds comprehensive SEO tools for multiple complex websites.

SEOmator’s tiered plans aim to provide the right level of SEO capabilities based on team size, number of websites, and monthly usage requirements. Lite meets your basic needs, while scaling up all the way to Advanced enables large-scale projects and reporting.

Final Thoughts

SEOmator is a relatively lightweight tool that does a heavy job—so it’s okay that it’s a bit rough around the edges. It audits thousands of website pages, compiles tons of data from them, and then it hands you step-by-step instructions on how to remedy any technical and SEO-related issues it finds.

The platform’s unified dashboard brings all of your rank tracking, backlinks, and even social media data into one place. This, along with powerful audits, rank monitoring, and keyword tools, provides actionable insights for you and your team.

While the SEOmator website and its free tier have some limitations, the paid plans set out to deliver the tools needed to stay on top of multiple websites.

For SMBs and agencies seeking an all-in-one SEO toolkit, SEOmator provides an option worth considering. We suggest taking advantage of the free trial to see if its features, interface, and support will make a good fit for your business.
