For simple WordPress sites with limited SEO needs, SEOPress has appeal. But we were disappointed to find it couldn’t provide the level of strategic insight, customization, and fine-tuned control that larger businesses demand.

Sub-par customer service: Testing out SEOPress, we found their support team’s response times and availability to be less than stellar.

On multiple occasions, we waited over 24 hours to get a reply to a query via online chat or email. There were a couple of instances where we never heard back at all.

Getting in touch with a live support representative was inconsistent. Sometimes we connected right away. Other times we sat on hold for more than 30 minutes. When we did reach a representative, the level of service felt rushed and scripted.

For small business owners or bloggers who are new to search engine optimization, having to wait days for basic questions or comb through knowledge bases could be a dealbreaker.

Messy customization settings: Once we started exploring the SEOPress customization options, we quickly became overwhelmed.
